With the second pick in the NBA Draft the Detroit Pistons select Darko Milicic.
It's one of the most infamous lines Pistons fan will remember forever. In a draft class that featured Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade, the Pistons selected a 18-year old, unproven center, named Darko Milicic. Heard of him lately? Didn't think so.
You might say, well damn Ken, that's just one mistake, everyone makes mistakes.
Joe Dumars has made major mistakes.

1) He basically drove Larry Brown out of town, for having a little bit of interest in the Knicks.

2) He traded Chauncey Billups, the over whelming leader of the team, to Denver for Allen Iverson. Heard of him lately? Didn't think so.

3) He has failed to sign any big time free agents to help this team. Kwame Brown, Jarvis Hayes, Nazr Mohammad, Theo Ratliff, Earl Campbell. Heard of them lately? Nah.

4) Even if we didn't talk about the Darko pick, Joe D has drafted horribly. Carlos Delfino, Amir Johnson, Will Blalock, Sammy Mejia, Deron Washington, Jason Maxiel. None of these players have contributed to the team in and significant way. With the exception of Rodney Stuckey and Aaron Afflalo (Who are still basically unproven)

5) The hiring of Michael Curry. Now, I'll cut Michael Curry a break, he's had to deal with a lot this year, but he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. A rookie head coach to coach veterans? Joe D should have known better.

Joe Dumars is still living off the fluke 2004 championship. He now has the symptoms of another GM we once new...Matt Millen. Bad signings, bad drafting, bad team.

yes kenny hes made mistakes but he is also the one that drafted prince, traded for hamilton, signed billups, traded a superstar grant hill for a no named ben wallace, and traded for rasheed wallace. He got us to 5 or 6 straight eastern conference finals. With all of Joe D's lows there have been highs, you can't just take one bad season in account against what hes done in a decade. Th trade for iverson was to get rid of billups to develop stuckey, no way stuckey is going to develop with billups in the way and the move also cleared up cap space for the future. You can't just all jump in the bandwagon if he gets like a Chris Bosh in uniform this off season, Joe D is just thinking of the future of this team. Personally i do think he should've traded Hamilton instead and make stuckey the shooting guard because idk if he has what it takes to be a pure point guard like Chauncey was.

He drafted Prince, who has done nothing except block a shot against Reggie Miller.
Rip Hamilton hasn't averaged over 21 points per game yet.
Ben Wallace isn't even a starting center in this league anymore.
And if he takes any pride in finding talent, he wouldn't have traded Billups. Who's gonna develop Stuckey? Me? Michael Curry? Doubt it. Stuckey is obviously a combo guard who is being forced to learn the point. As Chauncey was, the exception being, Chauncey had Larry Brown. Joe D has done good things, but the fact is, they haven't produced anything. If you win a championship, you're expected to get back. They haven't. Look, we'll see what he does with all this money he's gonna have, but it's hard to trust someone who has a bad signing resume.

by the way
do i know you haha
